My research focuses on reading and writing instruction. Typically, I work with practicing teachers to support their content, curricular, and pedagogical knowledge as they work with students in the PK-12 system. Currently, a graduate student and I are part of an interdisciplinary that includes with palliative care doctors at WVU Medicine. This work consists of looking closely at the readability levels of patient-facing opioid contracts and agreements.
